I did a couple sketches from some Dean Cornwell paintings last night and I thought I would share them.
I always love the strength of structure that he puts in the heads he paints and draws. they are exaggerated in character and simplified in structure. all the right stuff!

It's practically unfair how good he was, are these from his library mural?
I know that every time Allen comes to my house (usually, Scarborough and passing through to San Diego), he wants to take off with the Cornwell book that I have.
Kurt, no these are from 2 different paintings, one in the book, and one from an auction catalog I have. I would be a fun exercise to copy an entire painting someday!
Jimmy, you need to buy him a copy of the book, or it will "go missing" soon...! ;)
